Thanksgiving Week in Colorado Springs!
By Tony Fleming-Brum - November 21, 2016
It’s looking like chilly weather here in Colorado Springs this Thanksgiving week, with a chance for snow both Monday evening and Tuesday morning. Be sure to pack warm clothes!
Starting off the week with Monday evening (11/21), we’ve got a very interesting event at the Fifth Element Gallery & Tattoo Studio. The studio will be celebrating its first anniversary with a Star Wars themed art show featuring both local and international artists, and a party to kick off the SoCo Winter underground art season! Stop by to show your support and check out the amazing original artwork.
Tuesday morning/afternoon (11/22) brings us to Manitou Springs, where the CommonWheel Artists Co-Op will be running their annual Holiday Market event! Their art and fine craft items are made by local Colorado artists with both price and quality in mind. You’re sure to find unique gift ideas for even the hardest people to shop for on your list!
Tuesday evening should be a lot of fun at the USAF Academy, as they’ll be hosting Stetson University in what should be a great game of college football!
Wednesday morning (11/23) will be a great chance to get the kids out and active at CITYRock Climbing Gym, where they’ll be holding Thanksgiving Caving Camps! The camp will give your kids/teens something fun, educational, and athletic to do over Thanksgiving break; learning rappelling, ascending, and tons more caving basics!
After a morning out with the kids getting in some physical exercise, why not wind down the evening with some mental exercise? The Gold Camp Brewing Co. will be hosting their weekly live trivia game, Triviality, which they hail as the most fun and exciting around! Lil Howard’s BBQ will be serving delicious pulled pork, hot links, and more all night long.
Thanksgiving Day (11/24) we’ll start our day with a little giving, with the 2016 Operation Turkey at PF Changs. Join the staff and fellow volunteers in packaging and delivering meals to those in need! All donations are tax-deductible and go 100% towards the cost of food.
If you’re on the road and looking for a nice turkey meal on Thanksgiving, check out the Hotel Elegante Thanksgiving Brunch! All the delicious dishes of a home-cooked Thanksgiving meal, and the best part, no clean-up afterwards!
