This Weekend in Colorado Springs (11/18-11/20)

Our First Snow!!

By Tony Fleming-Brum - November 18, 2016

Snow has finally arrived! You’re still in for nice, sunny skies if you’re in Colorado Springs this weekend, but expect your mornings to be a bit frosty!
Starting off our weekend with Friday evening (11/18), internationally-acclaimed guitar virtuoso Trace Bundy will be visiting Stargazers Theatre! Bundy must be seen to be believed; using harmonics, looping, and multiple capos to confound even the most accomplished music lovers as to how one person can do so much with just two hands!

Saturday afternoon and evening (11/19) will be perfect weather to get out and see the Winter Lights at Broadmoor Seven Falls. A tradition since 1947, the water of the Falls is lit by alternating colored and white lights to promote the canyon. Events for all ages begin at noon and come to a close around 6pm.

Also celebrating the holidays downtown this Saturday evening will be Santa and his elves! Join Colorado Springs for the annual Tree Lighting in Acacia Park. With ice skating, live music, and ornament crafts, this event will be a treat for the whole family!

Sunday morning (11/20) brings us to the Black Forest Community Club for the SECAB Alpaca Holiday Extravaganza! This free, educational event will showcase the entire range of alpaca products: garments, fashion apparel, and accessories just in time for holiday shoppers! Alpacas will also be present for you to enjoy, and to see how soft their fleece really is.

This brings us to Sunday evening, where you’re in for a real treat if you’re in town! Paul O’Neill launched a project in 1996 that over the past 20 years has become a critically-acclaimed, multi-platinum, musical powerhouse: Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The progressive rock group’s record-setting “rock theater” tours sell out venues year after year and have cemented TSO’s status as a must-attend, multi-generational, holiday tradition. This show will be put on at the Broadmoor World Arena, and is a must-see if you’re in town this weekend!
