This Week in Colorado Springs (10/24-10/27)

Our Last Warm Week!

By Tony Fleming-Brum - October 24, 2016

It appears as though we’re heading into our last week of warm weather here in the Springs, so visitors and residents alike should definitely try to get out in the sun!

Starting off the week with Monday evening (10/24), The Gold Room will be showing the Denver vs. Houston game on Monday Night Football. The Gold Room has an entire wall of 5 giant screens in the highest definition, no small screens with tiny scores!

Tuesday morning (10/25), we start the day off in Larkspur, just North of Colorado Springs. Starting at 9 a.m., the Colorado Pumpkin Patch will have a petting zoo, pony rides, activities for kids, and of course, pumpkins! Tuesday evening Thunder and Buttons Bar & Grill will be having their monthly Geeks Who Drink trivia night. Play in teams of up to six, or by yourself if you want a real challenge! Winning teams get bar cash, street prizes, and of course, street cred among fellow geeks who drink.

Continuing with our October/Halloween theme for this week, on Wednesday (10/26), Outlets at Castle Rock will be throwing their first Wicked Wednesday Halloween Party! With a magic show, face painting and a costume contest (12 and under), it will be a spooky, fun family evening. For our adult readers, Front Range BBQ will also be having a Halloween and costume party, but for adults! Live music will be presented by Grass It Up starting at 7:30 p.m., and festivities facilitated by Ska Brewing and Avery Brewing Company.

Thursday afternoon (10/27) should be our warmest day of the week, and what better way to bring a close to our warm weather than a nice walk/jog through The Garden of the Gods? Hosted by the G.O.G. Visitor & Nature Center, they have mapped out 5 phenomenal routes for all ages and groups, one of which is designed specifically for strollers of pets on leashes! After a nice walk in the park, you might consider stopping by Jives Coffee Lounge for their weekly Open Mic Night! Offering the most creative coffee recipes you will ever have, you can either sign up with the barista and strut your stuff for your 15 minutes of fame, or just sit back and enjoy the show of local talent!

And as always, don’t forget about Front Range Shuttle, from cozy SUV’s to 25 passenger tour buses, we have your airport transportation needs covered!
