This Weekend in Colorado Springs (10/21-10/23)

A Warm Fall Weekend!

By Tony Fleming-Brum - October 20, 2016

Colorado Springs is in for yet another sunny Fall weekend, and there's plenty going on around town to keep you entertained!

Starting off with Friday evening (10/21) visitors and residents alike are in for a rare treat, as the Orionid Meteor Shower will be at its peak! Join up with Professor Moonbeam of the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society at Fountain Creek Nature Center for another round of Fall Night Sky for Beginners, telescopes provided.
Following an evening of stargazing, Saturday (10/22) will be a wonderful day for a walk in Old Colorado City, which will be hosting this year’s Giant Pumpkin Festival! Tons of fun for kids, there will be games, prizes, face painting, and much more! For the adults in the crowd, Old Colorado City will also be hosting the Giant Spirit Tour, a walking tour of the best tastings and samples of beer and wine around. Saturday evening will be relatively low-key here in town after the day of festivals in Old Colorado City, but if you’re still looking for a night out, you might enjoy the Broadmoor World Arena. This weekend the Colorado Springs Philharmonic will be presenting “Citizen Without a Country”, a unison of the works of Brahm and Dvorak. The works of these two composers are united by their emotional intimacy and grand love of country.
Wrapping up the weekend with Sunday afternoon (10/23) here in the Springs, why not try your hand at the Ultimate Escape Experience Competition? You find yourself locked in a room, surrounded by unfamiliar objects, puzzles, and hidden clues…the clock is ticking! Think you can escape the room? Presented by Enter the Room, prizes for the team with the fastest escape include a split of $10,000 cash (divided among your team members), a live radio interview, and a host of local gift certificates!

And as always, don’t forget about Front Range Shuttle, from cozy SUV’s to 25 passenger tour buses, we have your airport transportation needs covered!
